Protocol Rescue Performing a High Angle Rope Rescue (Video)

Protocol Rescue recently teamed up Devon Fire Department in Alberta for a joint exercise to perform a mock technical rope rescue of an injured person at the edge of a cliff.

The rescue was filmed by Battalion TV, a web TV show about real-life firefighters and emergency response heroes.

At around 10 minutes into the episode, the Protocol Rescue team ascends a steep hill to rescue a woman who has been incapacitated by pain. After securely strapping her into a stretcher, the Protocol Rescue team uses their technical rope rescue skills to safely lower the stretcher and themselves down the side of the cliff to a river where a rescue boat is on standby to take the woman to an ambulance.
